The Human ORFeome V8.1 Collection represents the most recent version of the Human ORFeome from the Center for Cancer Systems Biology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (CCSB-DFCI).

The original source projects (e.g., MGC, ORFeome, IMAGE Consortium, DKFZ, Kazusa) no longer maintain active databases, and these legacy biological collections have limited validation. The Human ORFeome v8.1 Collection represents the most recent version of the Human ORFeome from the Center for Cancer Systems Biology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (CCSB-DFCI). hORFeome v8.1 Collection has undergone more extensive QC than previous versions, having had clonal isolates verified by next-gen sequencing.

Altogether, this collection represents almost 12,000 unique genes. Originally derived from fully-sequenced MGC cDNA clones, these fully sequenced* ORFs have been Gateway-adapted to enable efficient transfer of the ORF construct into compatible expression vectors.
