The ORFeome Collaboration Libraries contain fully sequenced, genome-scale human and mouse open reading frame (ORF) libraries cloned into Gateway-entry vectors.
Please note that we are unable to provide additional information beyond what is listed on this page. The original source projects (e.g., MGC, ORFeome, IMAGE Consortium, DKFZ, Kazusa) no longer maintain active databases, and these legacy biological collections have limited validation. As a result, they are offered "as is" without guarantee.
To help ensure you receive the correct clone, we recommend isolating and sequencing multiple colonies (3-4) and conducting your own verification to confirm suitability for your research. Thank you for your understanding.
The ORFeome Collaboration (OC) is a group of academic and commercial laboratories formed to develop an unrestricted source of sequence-validated human ORF clones. Using MGC cDNA clones as starting material, the OC has been able to create over 10,000 full-length human ORF clones, promoting the goal of providing at least one ORF for each of the ~18,500 defined human genes. Dharmacon is a major distributor for the OC, providing individual clones, gene family libraries, and whole-genome collections to academic and commercial customers.
Using Gateway recombinational cloning system in all of the OC ORF clones allows for efficient transfer of the ORFs from one vector to another, providing a broad choice of destination vectors. OC ORFs are available with or without native stop codons, providing options for native and fusion-ready protein expression.

We provide certain clone resources developed by leading academic laboratories. Many of these resources address the needs of specialized research communities not served by other commercial entities. In order to provide these as a public resource, we depend on the contributing academic laboratories for quality control.

Individual Clones
Clones are provided as a live culture in a 2 mL tube. Each tube contains LB medium supplemented with 8% glycerol and the appropriate antibiotic. We will ship your clone at room temperature via express delivery. Store the stock clone at -80°C.
Bulk Orders
Orders of 50 clones or greater and stock plates will be provided in microtiter plates. These will ship on dry-ice via overnight delivery and should be stored at -80°C immediately upon receipt. Please contact our customer service department for a quote and estimated shipping time on bulk orders.
