世界におけるがん統計GLOBOCAN（Sung et al., 2020）によると、肺がんは世界におけるがん死亡の最も大きな原因です。ctDNAに基づく複数の早期診断および予後予測のための検査が分子標的治療のために開発されており、適切な精度管理用試料が存在することが重要と考えられています。すべての肺がんが同じ遺伝子変異を持つわけではなく、このパネルは肺がん症例の約85％を占める非小細胞肺がん（Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: NSCLC）のDNA変異を対象としています。このパネルは、EGFR、KRAS、BRAFにおけるNSCLCに関連する重要なDNAドライバー変異および、MET、ERBB、PIK3CA、NRASといった遺伝子の稀なバリアントを含みます（変異情報については下表参照）。リキッドバイオプシーに基づくコンパニオン診断（CDx）検査のバリデーションを支援するために、このパネルはctDNAフォーマットで作製されています。アレル頻度が0.30%と低いため、このパネルは最小残存病変（minimal residual disease: MRD）検査用にデザインされたアッセイのバリデーションに使用することができます。

化学合成による標準物質とは異なり、このパネルは遺伝子改変細胞株を独自にブレンドして作られており、患者サンプルを模倣するとともにゲノムの複雑さを保持しています。これまで同様、当社のすべての標準物質はISO 9001:2015およびISO 13485:2016の下で製造されています。
