In the titering protocol there is a formula to calculate transducing units per ml (TU/ml); to what does the number 40 refer?

The titer units are given in transducing units (TU) per ml, so the 40 is used to convert the 25ul used in the titration ("volume of diluted virus used", Table 14 of the pGIPZ product manual ) to a ml.
