How are Horizon cfDNA Reference Standards fragmented?

Genomic DNA extracted from engineered cell lines is accurately and precisely sheared using a mechanical shearing method. Horizon has developed optimized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency.

For each Reference Standard, DNA fragment size is measured using the TapeStation D1000 system, to ensure the average fragment size is within the acceptance criteria. This is reported on the Certificate of Analysis.
