Drug transporters

Critical to drug development - drug transporter animal models are used to understand and correctly predict:

  • Safety
  • Efficacy
  • DDI and formulation

Utilize pre-clinical models as predictors of pharmacokinetics and toxicity in humans. Avoid the use of current efflux assays which rely on wild type rats dosed with chemical inhibitors which often interact with multiple transporters — thereby can increase the number of animals and studies needed.
