This calculator provides instructions on how to dilute a DNA stock solution to obtain specific DNA copy number per μl
- If you know that the weight of your DNA (molar mass per bp) is different from the average weight of DNA basepair, change the value. Otherwise just use the default value.
- Choose the organism you DNA originates from, or choose "Custom DNA fragment". If you choose a custom fragment, fill in the length of the fragment.
- Fill in the measured concentration of your stock solution.
- Fill in the desired concentration (copies/µl) and volume.
The application will automatically calculate the pipetting volumes required for the desired dilution.
