Webinar: Tools for Knockdown of Long Noncoding RNA

Abstract:

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are defined as RNAs that do not encode protein and are longer than 200 nucleotides. Recent work has demonstrated lncRNAs are multifunctional effectors of cellular homeostasis and disease states. lncRNAs are involved in transcriptional regulation, post-transcriptional regulation events such as splicing and translation, epigenetic regulation and nucleation of protein complexes. This webinar describes the basic biology of lncRNAs, and siRNA approaches to inhibit their activity and determine their functional roles.
